Mission Motto

MISSION MOTTO: LEARNING FOR ALL, WHATEVER IT TAKES!

The Board of Corvallis School District #1 will plan and direct all aspects of the district's operation to insure that each student will have equal access to a quality education. To achieve this goal a consideration of curriculum, instructional programs, staff, funding and facilities is necessary

A school-wide curriculum will be developed, implemented and evaluated to insure that students are provided with an opportunity for excellence in education. In order to stimulate students' athletic, artistic, and creative interests, opportunities for participation in a wide range of activities will be provided.

Instructional programs, methods and materials will be consistent with current knowledge of effective teaching and will be appropriate to the developmental age of students. These programs will be available to students regardless of race, color, caste, creed, sex or level of ability. The district recognizes that equal opportunity education does not imply uniformity and that each student's unique characteristics must be acknowledged.

The educational program of the district will function successfully when highly qualified staff are employed, opportunities for staff development are provided and the best possible working conditions are maintained.

The quality of learning programs are directly dependent on the provision of adequate funds and their effective and efficient management. The district will utilize all available sources of financing to insure that educational programs are adequately funded.

Physical facilities will be provided to meet the desired objectives of the instructional programs. Provision of such facilities requires an ongoing process of planning for and evaluating the facility needs of the district.
